The setting was ideal (obviously, this is Holkham we’re talking about here!) and the attendees (of whom there were many) were extremely affable and enthusiastic. Nobody turned us down for an interview and no-one objected to having a camera roaming around.

We turned around the piece in less than 20 hours, which also included a few hours sleep. It was then shown on a big screen at the event on Sunday evening where it was extremely well received, tears were shed and hands were put together enthusiastically. What more could you ask for.

Images from the event have been handed over and we will soon begin work on the short edit which will be used for next year’s Pedal Norfolk promotion.

This fantastic three day event is being organised with the assistance of one of our regular business collaborators Purple Chilli Events. The main focus as you would imagine is cycling with three rides of varying lengths taking place each day through the stunning Norfolk Countryside. In addition to this there will be music, beautiful food and loads of fun for the families of riders. People can either come on the day and join in or camp for the whole weekend. Artifact Uprising make beautiful 100% recycled books with definite graphic design flare, we contacted them last year to ask more about their service. This tickled them as they were excited to see how far their reputation had taken them – you see they’re based stateside but we live in a small world right? They loved it so much so they wrote a blog post about it on their site.  The gist being just how exciting it can be never knowing who might be in touch next and from where.

We often talk about this at schoolhouse, running a business is an truly exciting thing. You never really know just who your next client might be and what fantastic projects you might become involved in.  We like the test of having to deliver winning content and creative solutions for wildly differing types of companies from wildly different sectors. In the two years plus we’ve been doing this as Schoolhouse this has become our main motivation. The feeling you get when you hand over a finished project to a client, knowing that you have delivered beyond their expectations  whether it be a film, website or images is a fantastic feeling of accomplishment and it keeps on driving us forward.

Up stepped Schoolhouse. Although we don’t market ourselves strictly speaking as a web design company we certainly have the smarts within the team to confidently fulfil our clients needs in this respect. We use WordPress as our chosen content management system as it is proven, robust and well supported. It can easily be plugged into most, if not all social media outputs (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Pinterest etc) plus it’s really easy to use so we can show the client how to update their own site. That way they don’t need to be paying us for every little content change they need in the future.

Apart from the fact our websites look slick, polished and professional another good reason to use us is that they are excellent value for money, especially if you commission it as part of a package of content which might include photography, logo design or a marketing video.

Back to the Purple Chilli Website. It’s a clean design which lets the imagery and video do the talking. It’s optimised for mobile devices which means it will look great on smart phones and tablets too.

They are really happy with the final results and they finally feel they have a website that matches their ambitions as a company.

They aim to help young creative’s who are about to leave or are fresh out of University and aim to give them them the information and connections they will need to make it in the industry. For this weeks score they were keen to know what its like running an company like Schoolhouse, and how we survive being away from the city, as well as finding out what makes Pete tick as a young creative.

We were pretty confident from the outset that we were going to make a success of this given our experience, passion and expertise, but we could never have predicted just how good the first year would be. We’ve been fully booked for the last 12 months. We’ve worked with some great people on some fantastic projects. We thought we’d share some of the highlights with you in this showreel.
